So Here's What Happened

I'm not a talented writer like Melissa which is why I made such a basic title. This way there would be no expectations.

On Friday morning at 3 am, Melissa woke up to a huge contraction and was ready to get to the hospital. After sitting for a while she decided we could wait and leave as planned at 6:30 for our 9:30 c-section. Thirty minutes later we decided to go on in. On the way in her contractions were about three minutes apart, but Kallie stayed in due to the cerclage. I was confident she was not going to be born anytime soon, but I still took the opportunity to drive fast (I was secretly hoping to get pulled over). We called the after hours number and the on-call doctor for the practice was going to meet us at the hospital.

We sat around the hospital for a while and to make a long story short, Kallie was born at 7:03am. She was letting us know that we have a little control, but she was ultimately going to decide when she would come.

Everything is going well here, Melissa has slept about 3 hours over the past 48, so she is now resting. Tonight we will be sending Kallie to the nursery, because having her with us last night was not as beautiful and peaceful as we had planned.

Melissa should be back soon with a real post.

I love that you're in COLOR! :) What gorgeous color God has brought into your life with sweet Kallie. I thought of y'all on the way home today, and thought of Psalm 103 - he has redeemed your lives from the pit of despair and brought your precious girl.

Congrats, and get some sleep!

She's so beautiful. I'm so proud of you three.

Kallie- You are so loved. And yes, now you are completely in charge!!
